All We Have Are Moments (2022)
Saxophonist and Vocalist Marqueal Jordan’s desire is to be a musician and artist who not only learned the lessons of the legends who inspire him, but to also become an extension of those legends and build a legacy of music that would inspire generations to come. With his third album, All We Have Are Moments (AWHAM), Marqueal has created a solid foundation upon which to build that legacy. Recorded between the Summer of 2020 and February 2022, AWHAM is Marqueal’s most honest and complete body of work.
Single: Last Call (2021)
Saxophonist & Vocalist Marqueal Jordan dropped an eagerly anticipated new song for the first time in two years. "Last Call" is the lead single from his forthcoming third solo album, All We Have Are Moments, released on Marqueal’s imprint, October 23rd Music.
Written & produced by longtime collaborator and fellow artist Chris "Big Dog" Davis, "Last Call" is a follow-up to Marqueal's Top 20 single from Intention & Purpose, "The Edge”. With a sly laid-back groove and a blues-inflected melody, it is the perfect vehicle for his warm, soulful Tenor Saxophone. Get ready to vibe to this one in your car, in the comfort of your home, or during last call at your favorite bar/club.
"Last Call” is available for streaming and download at all digital outlets.
Intention & Purpose (2019)
Marqueal Jordan is a double-threat. For ten years he showed himself to be an A-List saxman as part of Brian Culbertson’s band, and also supporting dozens of other top tier stars. But the Chicago native is now ready to move to the front of the stage as both a horn player and soul singer with his new album, Intention & Purpose.
I caught Marqueal playing on this year’s Capital Jazz Supercruise, and he was all that. And for those who don’t yet know his name, his new album should be just the ticket. And we introduce SoulTrackers to this talented future star via the cool, romantic ballad, “It’s All Up To You.” This is the kind of song that both UAC and Smooth Jazz radio should be all over. — CHRIS RISEK, SOULTRACK.COM
Catalyst (2013)
“Chicago-based by way of his home town of L.A., sax man and vocalist Marqueal Jordan (pronounced “mar-KWELL”) can do both with soul and style, putting him in that rare company of artists like George Benson, Donny Hathaway, and Ronnie Laws. Currently touring with Brian Culbertson, CATALYST is Marqueal’s solo debut after years of top-shelf work with noteworthy stars such as Gerald Albright, Patti Austin, AWB, and many more. This stunning release from a veteran artist, songwriter, producer and features production by Chris “Big Dog” Davis, Frank McComb and a guest appearance by Culbertson. Sure to uplift!” — SMOOTHJAZZ.COM
